- Hey everyone, I noticed a lot of Envato authors get surprised by how much is taken out of their earnings before they see their payout statement, especially with the recent commission changes. Between the fixed $3-$5 Buyer Fee (which gets deducted before the author fee percentage is applied), author commissions (fixed 50%) and US Withholding Tax (up to 30%), a $59 item can end up yielding at $27 per sale or below this value.
